6 Degrees of Collaboration

Facilitated by Karen Hoffman

Come celebrate and collaborate with us on St. Patty's Day at ESPW.  Enjoy corned beef and cabbage and the encouragement and support of other women at your table as you experience the Six Degrees of Collaboration.

6 Degrees of Collaboration is a focused and fun way to get help and help others.  We all have dreams, goals and challenges in life.  Six Degrees of Collaboration creates an opportunity to share a challenge, goal or whatever you would like to share and get group input, or as author Keith Sawyer says "group genius."   Six brains together are wonderful.  Couple that with EVERYONE knows at LEAST 200 people, and the connections you can make are unbelievable!

Don't forget the energy of helping others as well.  You could say that you earn "Karma Credits" as you help others solve their challenges, go for their dreams and as you offer ideas, resources and connections.

THE PROCESS

State your challenge or goal or dream or vision – be concise.

  1. Received clarifying questions from your collaborators. (This first part is 2 minutes – so the sooner you can state your need, the more clarifying questions you will get and the more value you will receive).
  2. BE QUIET, LISTEN and WRITEyou will then have 4 minutes to get feedback, ideas and connections from the others at you table, so take notes and RECEIVE ideas, connections and resources from the genius of your group.
  3. Now?  Take Action! Our goal is that you will receive support and ideas to move your challenge or goal or dream or vision forward!

Karen Hoffman has used the brand name for herself "The IDEA Coach" since 2001. Laura Herring, founder of the Impact Group actually helped "name" her. She said Karen had soooo many ideas, that she could help others come up with ideas and, make them happen. So, Karen became "The IDEA Coach". It already WAS her. As an "activator" (as defined in "Now Discover Your Strengths"), SHE DOES love to help make this happen. Activate ideas. More recently, in St. Louis Magazine, there was a profile on Karen (May 2008, p. 104) and for the story they called her "the Queen of Possibilities." SHE LOVED that! She felt like She OWNED that...The IDEA Coach who is the Queen of Possibilities... She  has hundreds and hundreds of ideas, AND, the focus on positive possibilities. What about you? How are you branding yourself? Can she help you? Go to her website www.theideacoach.com for more information and the St. Louis Magazine article.
